Summer Youth STEM Programs at the Ohio Supercomputer Center

Participants in the OSC Summer Institute.

Offered through the Ohio Supercomputer Center, the Summer Institute and Young Women’s Summer Institute focus on engaging young minds in STEM education through firsthand access to high performance computing and networking. Both programs offer participants hands-on experiences and the practical knowledge they need to continue their interests in STEM education. Learn more about what we have to offer and how you can help through fulfillment of your NSF broader engagement requirements.

Alan Chalker, Ph.D., is Director of Technology Solutions at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC); Director of Awesim, OSC’s industry outreach program; and Director of OSC’s Summer Institute program for high school students, of which he is an alumnus.

This Virtual Brown Bag is part of a series of lunchtime webinars organized by STEM Initiatives to highlight opportunities for the university community to collaborate with partners involved with STEM Initiatives focus areas:

  • outreach and engagement with schools and the public
  • reform of undergraduate teaching and learning
  • recruitment and retention of students from underrepresented groups
